Money for Slave House
The Southern Illinoisan is running Matt Adrian's story on the veto session highlighting that lack of a capital project budget.
I got a chance to meet Matt last week and discuss the issues surrounding the Old Slave House in particular and state historic sites and parks in general.
Both Matt's story and a couple of other ones I found online today suggest action could be taken during the legislature's lame duck session in January. None of the stories mentioned the one idea I heard Tuesday, which was a special session called sometime in December.
For a good review of how this problem came about, check out John O'Connor's Associated Press story from last Monday.
