New Year, New Meeting
Open it NOW! Friends of the Old Slave House will meet next Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at Southeastern Illinois College on Route 13 between Harrisburg and Equality. The meeting will be held in the staff dining room off of the cafeteria.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss strategy for 2004.
Since our efforts to convince the governor's office to adopt our plan of action have failed so far, it's time to look for a legislative solution. That will be part of the discussion.
Everyone interested in saving the Old Slave House and seeing it reopen to the public is invited to attend. Open it NOW! Friends of the Old Slave House is simply an ad hoc committee organized last summer.
