Network to Freedom
The application papers to nominate the Old Slave House for the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom program are finally done.
It may be counterintuitive to nominate a reverse UGRR station to the National Park Service's program, but kidnapping stations are a category all of their own.
I'm leaving for a mission trip in a few hours, but when I get back later this month I'll either place the application here on this site, or link to the Network to Freedom site when they post all the applications coming in for the July 15 deadline.
Before I leave to go finish packing I want to publicly thank Bob Coomer from IHPA for giving permission for the site to be nominated. Anybody can take the time to nominate a site, but the site owner must approve the site for consideration by the National Park Service.
UPDATE Here's the PDF file of the first 36 pages of the application. The last nine pages of pictures I didn't upload because of bandwidth issues. The file is 1158KB.
